Dr. Rao has won Gold Medals and Honours in Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Preventive and Social Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology
She was also awarded the Dr. Bharat Prasad Kashyap Memorial Gold Medal for Overall Excellence. She is also a Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Rao also holds a DM in Cardiology from LPS Institute of Cardiology, Kanpur, in 2007
Dr. Rao is the first female Interventional Cardiologist in Central India.
