What is the waiting period for a treatment in India?
There is no waiting period for treatments. Once any medical condition is diagnosed and the treatment in terms of a surgery is planned it will be scheduled without any waiting or delays. Does my health insurance work in the Indian hospitals?
A valid international health insurance (for India) should cover the treatment. You need to notify the hospital where you are going to take treatment. If this hospital approves the insurance provider, they could request for an advance payment deposit/guarantee. Also depending on the treatment and the condition of the patient you may also need to take pre-approval in your country before travelling to India for treatment.

Can travel/transfers from the airport be taken care of?
The airport transfer is complimentary and Indus Health Plus provides assistance for daily commutation from the hospital to the hotel at an additional cost (provided the travel schedule is communicated in advance.)

Indus Health Plus provides assistance for Medical Visa. Usually the following process is followed:
Selection of the hospital for the treatment
We will assist in getting the medical visa invitation letter from the hospital.
This letter has to be presented at the 'Embassy' or 'High Commission of India' in the home country.
Finally, the medical tourist visa is then issued as per the norms
If my family member/attendant wants to travel with me for my treatment, do they need to apply for the Medical Visa?
Family member/attendant accompanying the patient's medical treatment in coming to India should have the Medical Attendant visa (MedX). Also the invitation letter from the hospital will be required.
How many people can accompany the patient for the medical travel? Who all could be permitted as attendants for this travel?
Not more than 2 attendants are generally allowed for the medical tourism. Attendants can be anyone as follows:

What is the validity of a medical visa?
Medical visa is issued for the duration of 1 year or for the treatment duration, whichever is lesser. This visa is valid for a maximum of 3 entries annually.
How many repeat visits are allowed?
Annually, a maximum of 3 entries are allowed.
What is the approximate Medical Visa fee?
Generally, the Medical visa fee is different for different countries and can cost around 13 to 153 USD.
What are the Medical Visa formalities post-arrival to India?
Indus will assist you for the medical visa formalities. Within 14 days of arrival in India, the patient and attendants are asked to register at the Foreigner's Regional Registration Office. A local Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRROs)/FROs registration is required for the attendants within 14 days of arrival in India.
In case the stay is extended for my treatment is, is there any assistance provided for this visa extension?
Extension of the Medical and Medical Attendant visas are decided by the FRRO in India. This extension depends on the patient's condition and requires proof in terms of the medical documentation.
